For as long as I can remember I have always had a curiosity, natural instinct and empathy for working with and looking at how, as human beings, we interlink and relate to each other; how and what provides us with the tools we use to develop and create our environment and quality of life; and alongside this a natural enthusiasm for sharing my understanding with others.
Over the last 10 years my personal spiritual quest has been to experience and understand myself at a level other than physical and when I was introduced to Shamanic practice by Paul Francis 5 years ago I knew I had found something that resonated deeply with a core part of my being. I have been teaching and practising Shamanism ever since
My background is in Homeopathy, which I have worked in for over 9 years. I studied in the idyllic surroundings of The Lake District and graduated with the qualification of Member of The Lakeland College in July 2001. I didn’t know it at the time but this was to be just the beginning of my journey.
I then completed a post-grad certificate of Integrative Homeopathy at ‘The Integrative College’, in Lancaster in 2003, where I have been teaching Integrative Homeopathy for the last 5 years. I qualified as a lecturer (CertEd) in my 20’s and have found the skills I gained all those years ago have been invaluable in my role as a Homeopathy teacher.
Embodied Relational Therapy: is a model of psychotherapy which utilises process orientated models with character and bodywork. I was fascinated by Wilhelm Reich’s character structures and had been using the model as a guide in my Homeopathic practice for some years and then decided I would like to take this aspect of my work deeper, so I completed a one-year body psychotherapy course in June 2005 with Nick Totton in Leeds, attaining a diploma in Embodied-Relational Therapy, followed by the advanced course in September 2006. As well as Homeopathy I now practice as an ERT therapist and enjoy the deeply meaningful contact and challenges which this work brings.
I live in Richmond in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales with my two teenage children and my dog ‘Cassie’ who is blind and deaf. I now also run a practice in Blackburn, Lancashire one day a week. As well as my general Homeopathy and ERT practice there, my partner Charles Dean, who is a neurophysiotherapist, and I are combining our skills to treat people who are recovering from a stroke.
